BRATISLAVA AIRPORT (BTS)

Bratislava Airport is accessible from the center in 15-20 min. It has direct connections from a number of destinations in Europe, including many airlines – RYANAIR, Pobeda, flydubai, Cyprus Airways, Smartwings, air cairo, Wizz Air and more. Cheaper is to go by bus no. 61 to Central Station. From there it is to the old town 15 min. on foot or by bus no. 93 (Hodžovo námestie stop) or tram no. 1 (Namestie SNP). Bus tickets are available at vending machines or at newsagents. They need to be marked on the bus.

AIRPORT VIENNA-SCHWECHAT

Vienna Airport lies only 40 km west of Bratislava and Slovaks use it mainly for long flights overseas. It is actually one of the gates to Slovakia. The main directions are from Prague, Budapest, Vienna and other areas of Slovakia. The city has three railway stations – Hlavna stanica, Petrzalka and Nove Mesto. Bratislava lies at the crossroads of important highways. Prague is 330 km away, Budapest 200 km and Vienna 65 km. In Slovakia, stickers are available on motorways, which can be bought at the border or petrol stations. The shortest sticker is weekly.

SHIP

Thanks to its location on the Danube, Bratislava has a regular shipping connection with Vienna. The center of Vienna (Schwedenplatz) with Bratislava connects the fast Twin City Liner catamaran, but also another high-speed ship, which is anchored in Vienna at Handelskai. BRATISLAVA CARD
If you are planning to stay here for one, two or three days, nothing better than Bratislava CARD does not exist. Buying a card guarantees you free public transport and walking tours of the old town with a guided tour, as well as many other discounts, discounts to museums, galleries, excursions, as well as taxis or car rentals up to 50%.

TRAM
The main part of public transport in the city are trams. They are reliable and run on time. In the area where the tracks are, they are the fastest public transport. CAR LOANS
Bratislava offers the possibility to rent a car through international companies such as Hertz, Avis, Sixt or Europcar. Most of them are located in large hotels or at airports. PARKING
On the main streets of the center there are light information boards with the current number of vacancies in underground garages or parking lots. Parking is available on the street in the city center. The parking fee can be paid in the form of SMS or by purchasing a parking card in the vending machine. Payment is due on business days from 8:00 to 16:00.

TAXI
It is cheaper to order a taxi by phone as a permanent station service or stop on the street. The minimum driving distance is around 5 EUR. We advise you to check the price before boarding the vehicle. Every taxi vehicle must have a visible price list in place and use a taximeter.

TROLLEYBUS
Some lines in the center, but especially the mountainous areas of the city, are electrified and trolley buses run there. They have a long tradition in Bratislava and have been riding here for over 100 years. Timetables, road planners, maps and route routes can be found at imhd.sk.

SHIP
Cruise ships operate on the Danube in Bratislava from April to October. They leave the passenger port on the Danube embankment (2 DB 31). It is extremely good to see from the boat how dynamically the city is developing and what role the river plays in it. The circuit takes 45 minutes to reach Bratislava, the trip to Devin Castle takes 1 ½ hour. lod.sk

CAR
Transport by car is more demanding from year to year. Although many new buildings, highways and bridges have been added, many cars have been added. The worst situation is between 8.00-9.00 and 16.30-17.30. The speed limit in the city is 50 km / h, unless otherwise specified.

BIKE
Local people like cycling very much, but mostly just as sport or active rest. To see people go to work on a bicycle (as in many European cities) is rather a rarity. WALKING
The advantage of Bratislava is the compactness of the center. In addition, the entire old town is one big pedestrian zone. The old town and the castle are well connected to each other, so most of the attractions for which people visit Bratislava can also be walked.
